Abstract

The present article deals with two species of the mitosporic genus Xylomyces Goos, RD. Brooks and Lamore viz., Xylomyces elegans Goh, W.H. Ho, K.D. Hyde & K.M. Tsui and Xylomyces pucillus Goh, WH. Ho, KD. Hyde & K.M. Tsui which were isolated from wood submerged in freshwater habitats. The later taxon forms a new report to the freshwater higher fungi of India. A key to the seven species in Xylomyces is provided.
