Effect of varieties and planting dates on growth and yield of cauliflower

A field experiment was conducted at the Department of Horticulture, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola during year 201 0–11, to study the effect of four varieties (Pusa Sharad, Pusa Katki, Pusa Aghani and Early Kunwari) and planting dates (15^th September, 1^st October and 15^th October) on growth and yield of cauliflower at Akola. Vegetative growth with respect of viz., plant height, number of leaves and leaf area recorded maximum values in variety Early Kunwari, transplanted on 15^th September. The curd yield (208.17 qt/ha⁻¹) was highest due to transplanting on 15^th September as compared to 15^th October (179.40 qt/ha⁻¹).
