Effect of varieties and planting dates on horticultural quality of cauliflower

A field experiment was conducted at Department of Horticulture, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola during Rabi season of year 2010–11. To study the effect of varieties (Pusa Sharad, Pusa Katki, Pusa Aghani and Early Kunwari) and planting dates (15^th September, 1^th October and 15^th October) on horticultural quality of cauliflower. The variety Early Kunwari showed best performance with respect to the days required for initiation of curd (51.71), Days to curd maturity (62.78), Gross curd weight (1.19 kg), Net curd weight (426.35 gm), Curd diameter (16.30 cm), Curd length (13.53 cm), Stalk length (3.56 cm), Ricyness (1.76%) and Buttoning (2.35%) when transplanted on ^th September.
