Abstract

The antifungal effect of methanol, ethanol and aqueous latex extracts of of Calotropis gigantea against six seed-borne fungi of groundnut viz. Aspergillus niger, A. flavus, A. fumigatus, Penicillium chrysogenum, Fusarium oxysporum, and Alternaria alternata, was investigated. The results revealed that, methanol was good extractive solvent for extracting compounds with antifungal properties followed by ethanol and water.
