Abstract

Height of plant (96.04 cm) and number of leaves (43.13) were highest due to the application of nitrogen @ 200kg/ha at 115 DAP. The height of plant (92.50cm) was maximum with phosphorous at 75 kg/ha and potassium at 75 kg/ha at 115 DAP. Treatment T18 (200:100:75NPK kg/ha) recorded highest heights of plant (99.78 cm) at 115 DAP. The treatment T10 (150:75:75 kg NPK/ha) recorded highest 1000 seed weight (4.33g) as well as maximum germination percentage (84.11). The seed yield of onion increased with higher dose of NPK. The treatment T10 (150:75:75 kg NPK/ha) produced maximum seed yield (10.18 q/ha). Thus it may be concluded that the fertilizer dose of 150:75:75 kg NPK/ha seems to be optimum for better quality and maximum seed yield in Onion cv. Phule Samarth.
