All water samples were slightly saline having average pH 7.54 in May and 7.36 in October. Average EC was 0.728 and 0.576 dSm−1 in May and October, respectively. The EC of water samples were high in the month of May. Na+ content in water ranged from 1.00 to 11.27 meL−1 during May while in winter it was from 0.50 to 9.68 meL−1. Among all samples, Na+ and Cl were dominant in water. The relative proportion of cations in irrigation water were Na+ > Mg++ > Ca++> K+. In summer K+ ranged from 0.03 to 1.5 meL−1, Ca++ from 0.8 to 6.5 meL−1 and Mg++ from 0.2 to 7.0 meL−1. The CO3− content ranged from 0 to 2.2 meL−1 with an average value of 0.776 meL1
