Abstract

River waters from three different sites of Jammu region (Chenab, Tawi, Ravi) were evaluated for physico-chemical (BOD, DO, pH, conductivity), microbial (bacterial cell count) and extracellular bacterial enzyme (amylase, catalase, cellulase, peroxidase) activities. The study indicated lower level of pollution at first two sites, while all the three rivers were most polluted at the third site.
