Banding profile of different primers for different isolates of D. maydis was studied. Of the ten primers used for amplification, OPA05, OPA 10, OPB 11 and OPA 16 showed 100 per cent polymorphism on banding pattern. Similarity based on RAP Danalysis coefficient of various isolates of Drechslera maydis, ranged from 33 to 71 per cent. Maximum similarity of 71% was observed between isolates Dm 11 and Dm 10 followed by 69% between isolates Dm 6, Dm 1 and also between Dm 12 and Dm 11. Whereas the least similarity of 33% was observed between Dm 7 and Dm 5 isolates.
