Screening for resistant mutants in turmeric cv. Salem in response to culture filtrate of Colletotrichum capsici was assessed on in-vitro mutated shoot tips. After 30 days of treatment, three mutants lines resistant to the culture filtrate was isolated and sub-cultured on regeneration medium. Two plants from 5 Gy treated and one plant from 10 Gy showed no infection. Whereas, unirradiated shoot clumps showed maximum rate of infection (6.12 lesions/shoot).
