Heterosis study for fruit yield and its related attributes was carried out in okra through line x tester mating design using seventeen lines and four testers. The variance due to parents vs. hybrids was significant for all the characters except fruit length and fruit girth, which indicated presence of heterosis for these traits. For fruit yield, cross combinations, Local Red x Parbhani Kranti (65.44%) and Sel. 2 x HRB-55 (57.05%) had exhibited highest heterosis over better parent and check hybrid, respectively. The other cross combinations viz., M-65 x GO-2 and VRO-6 x Parbhani Kranti were also observed to be the most potent heterotic hybrids for fruit yield and related traits.
