Three resistant (IIHR-79, IIHR-31 and Arka Anoop) and two susceptible (1IHR-55 and Arka Suvidha) parents along with F2 cross IIHR-31X IIHR-55 were used to identify marker linked to rust resistance. A total of 10 SCAR primers (SK14, SA14, S119, SBC6, SAD12, SAE19, UR11-GT2, KB126, SF10 and SBA8) were used for screening of the contrasting parents so as to get polymorphism for rust resistance. Out of 1 0 selected SCAR markers, SA-14, SK14 and SF-10 showed polymorphism between resistant and susceptible parents. For the markers, SA14800 and SK14620 polymorphic band was observed in resistant parent IIHR-31. Whereas, for the marker SF101072 polymorphic band was observed in resistant parent IIHR-79. Identified markers SA-14800 and SK14620 were again validated in F2 cross IIHR-31X IIHR-55.
