The present investigation was carried out to study the fertility status of Lohara tahsil of Osmanabad district. The soil characterastics were classified according to soil taxonomy in to Vertisols, Inceptisols and Entisols. Available Nitrogen content in soils of Lohara tahsil was higher in Vertisols and Inceptisols as compared to Entices. Majority of soil samples were low in available nitrogen and available phosphorus contents while high in available potassium. The soils were rich in exchangeable Ca2+ and Mg2+, while low in available S. with respect to micronutrient, soils were low in DTPA-Zn while high in DTPA-Fe, Mn and Cu
