Abstract

A study was carried out at different geographical elevations at Dangs district of Gujarat state to determine the effect of weather on teak defoliator, H. puera under heavy rainfall zone of south Gujarat. The results revealed that leaf defoliator infestation started appearing from June, reached to a peak in the month of July-August and declined towards the end of November and thereafter disappeared during rest of the months. There was significant positive correlation between per cent leaf damage by defoliator and rainfall.
