Based on the values of electrical conductivity (EC) and sodium absorption ratio (SAR) most of the water samples were highly saline. From sodi city point of view, 66 per cent samples were safe, 31 per cent samples were medium and only 3 per cent samples were unsuitable for irrigation purpose. It indicated that low sodium water can be used for irrigation on almost all types of soils. On the basis of negative Residual Sodium Carbonate (RSC) values, complete precipitation of calcium and magnesium was not evident. Thus the water samples were suitable for irrigation use.
