The turmeric rhizome soft rot caused by pythium myriotylum, is very severe disease. During present investigation slice method was used to find out the effect of thiram on the growth of pythium myriotylum. It was found that, Thiram at 2.5 and 3.0% concentrations was found to be most effective in controlling the growth of pythium myriotylum. Thus thiram can be used to control soft rot of turmeric caused by pythium myriotylum.
