Life fecundity tables of Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) on leaves of chickpea

Abstract

Life-fecundity table of Helicoverpa armigera was studied on leaves of three cultivars of gram. The net reproductive rate (Ro) was 193.01, 99.18 and 64.52 females perfemale per generation on the leaves of Vir at, G-12 and BDN-9-3, respectively. The innate capacity for increase in number (rm) was 0.1167 (Virat), 0.0927 (G-12), 0.0813 (BDN-9-3) female/female/day. Virat cultivar was found to be most suitable for rearing H. armigera.
