Forecasting rice blast in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh

This paper presents the rice blast severity and the influence of climatic factors in rice growing seasons through simple statistics and correlation studies in SPSR Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. Different combinations of climatic factors were found to be useful in the prediction of rice blast using Multiple Linear regression (MLR) models. The Logistic regression models were developed for prediction of occurring of the blast incidence during a particular standard week in rice growing season. The Analysis of variance (ANOVA) established that there was significant difference in occurrence of blast incidence on various rice varieties in different standard weeks.
