A field experiment was undertaken at the Department of Botany, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad to evaluate the performance of Sorghum + Cowpea intercropping system. The intercropping system was found to be beneficial when the two crops were cultivated in 1: 1 proportion i.e. alternating rows of sorghum and cowpea. The intercropping system led to beneficial fodder yield. On the basis of Land equivalent ratio (LER) Sorghum + cowpea intercropping system in 2: 1 and 1: 1 ratio was found to be beneficial with yield advantage.
