Abstract

Hydrocooling of Bitter gourd fruits grown both organically and conventionally were found beneficial in extending shelf life and reducing post harvest losses. Organic bitter gourd recorded higher quality and longer shelf life as compared to conventionally grown fruits. Postharvest quality deterioration was less with fruits of 14 days maturity, than fruits harvested at 15 days maturity.
