Online published on 24 August, 2016.
Fourteen promising genotypes and hybrids of Sweet Sorghum along with two checks (CSH 22SS and CSV 19 SS) were evaluated at Sorghum Improvement Project, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri during Kharif 2012 and 2013. Among the genotypes, Hybrid RSSH 50 was found superior for physiological traits like SPAD value, Leaf Area, Leaf Area Index, plant height and heat unit efficiency. These traits also showed significant positive correlation with fresh biomass production. Harvest Index and Leaf Temperature were significantly and negatively correlated with fresh biomass. In general, the hybrid RSSH 50 was found to be superior for physiological traits associated with biomass accumulation.
