Various microbial inoculants can facilitate plant growth and minimize the effect of loss topsoil, soil fertility, poor plant growth, low yield index and insufficient diversity of indigenous microbes. Microbial inoculants are microbial formulations which can be alternative to chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Microbial inoculants may act as phytostimulants, biofertilizers and microbial biocontrol agents. This paper focuses on the survival ability of granular formulation of microbial consortium and their effect on growth and yield of finger millet.
