Powdery mildew caused by Erysiphepisi Syd. and Rustby Uromyces fabae de Barry significantly reduces the yield and quality of pea all over the world. Screening of peagermplasm revealed five highly resistant genotypes viz. PSM-4, PSM-5, PMR-62, PMR-53, Arka Ajit. Twenty one genotypes (PMR-60, PMR-20, PM-58, PMR-52, KS-210, PMVAR-2 Mid Season, PM-68, PM-59, PEVAR-5 IET, PMR-33, PMR-71, PMVAR-5 AVT-I, PMR-64, PMR-61, PMVAR-6 AVT-II, PEVAR-4 IET, PM-78, PMVAR-7 AVT I, PM-47, CHP-2, and PM-81, Aincholi-1) showed symptoms only after inoculation with less severity and fast recovery. No genotype was found resistant against Uromyces fabae, though, three genotypes (JP-83, Arka Ajit, PMR-20) were found tolerant to rust.
