Abstract

An attempt was made to investigate the diversity of soil microfungi from Nagthane, Koyna, Satara road, Rahimatpur in Satara district of Maharashtra state under the influence of invasive weed Eupatorium odoratum L. From the soils under the influence of leaf leachate of Eupatorium odoratum, forty two species belonging to 28 genera were recovered. In the soil samples, species of Aspergillus, Cladosporium and Fusarium were found to be dominant. As compared to control soil samples, the number of soil microbes were slightly lower in leaf leachate influenced soil samples.
