In vitro evaluation of plant extracts against Colletotrichum destructivum causing anthracnose of cowpea

Antifungal activity of different plant extract against Colletotrichum destructivum O'Gara causing anthracnose disease of Cowpea was evaluated with poisoned food technique. The plant extracts significantly inhibited mycelial growth of the test pathogen. The growth inhibition increased with increasing concentration of plant extracts. Neem (Azadirachta indica) leaf extract was most effective and recorded significantly highest growth inhibition (64.61 per cent) of the test pathogen. This was followed by Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) and Garlic (Allium sativum) extracts.
