Nutrient uptake and fertilizer use efficiency of brinjal (Solanum melongena L.) as ifluenced by planting density, irrigation and fertigation levels under drip irrigation

Abstract

The planting of 175-50x 50 cm showed significant variation with respect to N, P and K contents and their uptake by fruits, leaves and stem. Similar trend was observed with irrigation level I1 (100 per cent ETcrop). The fertigation of 100 per cent RDF through drip recorded significantly superior values of N, P and K contents and their uptake in fruit, leaf and stem however, 100% RDF through soil application in combination with surface irrigation recorded relatively lower values. Maximum fertilizer use efficiency was recorded due to 80 per cent RDF through drip irrigation.
