Abstract

The present study was undertaken to validate the hybridity of mango derived by crossing Alphanso x Vanraj varieties. In all 40 M-13 tailed SSR markers were screened to identify polymorphism between the parents. Based on polymorphism, two markers were further selected for hybridity validation The markers 5579 and 6673 could distinguish the hybrids from the parents and the hybrids which were detected by both the markers were considered as true hybrids.
