Abstract

Fifty genotypes of cluster bean [Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.)] Taub] were evaluated to estimate variability, broad sense heritability and genetic advance for vegetable pod yield and related attributes during summer 2014. Higher variability was observed for almost all characters under study excepts pod length and pod diameter. High heritability coupled with high genetic advance were observed for number of primary branches plant−1, pod length, number of pod cluster−1, average weight of 50 pods, pod yield plant−1, pod yield plot−1, pod yield ha.-1 and plant height. Thus the selection based on plant height, number of primary branches plant, number of pod cluster and plant yield will be useful for improvement in green pod yield of cluster bean.
