Abstract

Fifty genotypes of cluster bean [Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub] were evaluated to estimate correlation and path analysis for pod yield during Summer, 2014. Days to first flowering, days to 50% flowering and plant height had negative and significant correlation with green pod yield plot−1 at both genotypic and phenotypic levels. However, number of pod cluster−1, average weight of 50 pods, pod length had positive and highly significant association with green pod yield plot−1 at both genotypic and phenotypic levels indicating possibility of simultaneous selection of these traits to improve pod yield. Path analysis revealed that pod length, number of pods clusters−1, days to first flowering and diameter of pod had high direct effects on green pod yield plot−1 hence, for the improvement of pod yield and these traits would be rewarding during selection.
