Field trials were conducted to study the efficacy of nine selected neem-based formulations against loose smut of wheat during Rabi seasons 2010–2011 and 2011–2012. Among the nine neem-based formulations evaluated, Nimbecidine @ 5 ml/kg seed gave 100 percent disease control as well as maximum yield (53.80 q/ha) followed by Wanis, Hind Super Neem and Neemax Urea. Nimbecidine @ 5ml/kg seed was found to be the best treatment in controlling loose smut infection.
