Abstract

Inoculation of embryo axes from germinating seeds of cotton with vector pBI-121-GUS mobilized into Agrobacterium tumefaciens strains EHA 105 was carried out with the addition of tobacco leaf extract and acetosyringone. It resulted in higher positive GUS plants in tobacco leaf extract than in acetosyringone. The potential impact of these powerful methodologies on the genetic improvement of crop plants of economic importance has now a days generated considerable interest.
