Abstract

A field experiment was undertaken to find out the response of wheat to different micro-nutrient management practices at Agricultural Research Station, Niphad, Dist. Nashik, Maharashtra during 2012–13 to 2014–15. The soil of experimental site was Vertisol with iron deficiency. After three years of experimentation, the results revealed that the application of 120: 60: 40 N: P2O5: K2O kg ha−1 + 10 t FYM + soil application of FeSO4 @ 20 kg ha−1 produced significantly higher grain (41.38 q ha−1) and straw (62.25 q ha−1) yields.

Application of FeSO4 @ 20 kg ha along with FYM @10 t ha−1 improved nitrogen and iron contents of the soil. Highest nitrogen uptake by wheat was due the application of recommended dose of fertilizers (RDF) + 10 t FYM + 0.2% Fe EDTAspray at 40 and 60 days after sowing.
