Haematological Indices in Labeo Rohita Exposed to Parthenium Hysterophorus L. Extract

Effect of Parthenium hysterophorus L. leaf extract @ 5 ml/Lon hematological indices in Labeo rohita was studied. After 96 h of exposure, the RBC count decreased to 1.83 (10⁶/μL), hemoglobin to 9.1 (g/dL) and haematocrit value to 15.49 (%), over control (4.250 10⁶/μL, 12 g/dL and 24.58% respectively). Mean corpuscular hemoglobin also significantly decreased to 72.43 pg with mean corpuscular volume of 122.41 fL over control (51.77 pg and 106.26 fLrespectively). The WBC count significantly increased from 7.89 to 12.7 10³/μL, while platelet count from 428 to 650 10³/μLover control.
