A leaf spot pathogen was isolated from five different citrus species and identified as Elsinoe fawcettii, asexual stage of Sphaceloma fawcettii, causing scab disease. The pathogen produced warty lesions and corky outgrowth on leaves and fruits. potato dextrose agar media was found to be excellent for growth and sporulation of the fungus. The fungicide Bordeaux mixture (1%) and extract of Ocimum sanctum (10%) effectively inhibited in vitro growth of the pathogen. The citrus variety Rangpur lime var. Phillipine Red lime exhibited resistance to the disease.
