Abstract

The present research study was conducted in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra state. The findings revealed that 48.00% banana growers were above the age of 51 years, while 46.00% of them had completed secondary level of education. Most of them (77%) were using mass media, however, very few of them were aware of technical knowledge with adoption of practices. All of the banana growers were experiencing crop failure due to diseases and pest infestation, particularly leaf spot bunchy top diseases, and expecting training on control of diseases and pest infestation. Other constraints faced by the farmers included low prices, non-availability of good market facilities.
