Morphological variation among the isolates of Sclerotium rolfsii

The cultural variability among 13 isolates of S. rolfsii was studied under in vitro by plate culture technique. The colony diameter ranged from 5.17 to 8.03 cm on PDA and 5.08 to 7.88 cm on Coons agar medium, growth rate ranged from 0.65 to 1.05 mm/hr. on PDA and 0.64 to 1.02 mm/hr. on Coons agar medium. The colour of the mycelium ranged from cottony white to buff with either smooth or wavy margin. The colour of sclerotia ranged from brown to dark brown, shape sub spherical to spherical and test weight of 100 sclerotia ranged from 50 to 252.63 mg on PDAand 52.33 to 262.00 mg on Coons agar medium.
