Abstract

A field experiment was undertaken at Regional Agriculture Research Station, Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh during kharif 2015–16 to standardize plant population and planting geometry for cotton under high density planting system (HDPS). Significantly higher seed cotton yield (1205 kg ha−1) and number of bolls per square meter (54.5) were recorded due to the spacing of 60 cm x 10 cm. Higher seed cotton yield (1201 kg ha−1) and number of bolls per square meter (56.8) was observed in the genotype NH 615 and it was at par with Suraj (1104 kg ha−1) and NDLH 1938 (1068 kg ha−1) genotypes.
