Abstract

A field experiment was conducted to study the effect integrated nitrogen management on growth, yield and nutrient uptake of upland paddy at College of Agriculture, Kolhapur during kharif, 2014. For this purpose the organic manures such as FYM, vermicompost, castor cake, neem cake were combined with inorganic fertilizers and applied to the crop as a source of fertilizer. Application of 75% recommended dose of nitrogen (RDN) through inorganic fertilizer + 25% N through castor cake recorded significantly higher values of growth and yield attributing characters resulting into higher grain and straw yields, and nutrient uptake by paddy. The treatment was at par with the application of 75% RDN through inorganic fertilizer + 25% N through vermicompost and recommended dose of fertilizers (RDF).
