Present investigation deals with in vitro antibacterial activity of crude methanolic rhizome extract of Zingiber zerumbet (L.) Smith. against bacterial strains. The extract was found to be most sensitive against all the tested organisms. Gram positive bacteria were found to be more susceptible than Gram negative bacteria.
