Abstract

Pleurotus florida was cultivated on different agro wastes viz. soybean straw, paddy straw, ground nut straw, jowar straw, sunflower stalk and tur stalk, to study the effect of these agro waste on its yield, biological efficiency (B.E), and moisture, total carbohydrate, protein, crude fat and ash contents Soybean straw showed significantly highest yield (with 82.03% B.E.) of mushroom with maximum protein content (25.00%). Significantly maximum moisture (89.70%), crude fiber and fat (7.88 and 2.80% respectively) was observed when it was grown on sunflower stalk.
