Abstract

Present investigation was undertaken for isolation and identification of phytopathogenic Ralstonia solanacearum, which causes wilting symptoms in the plants belonging to families solanaceae and musaceae. The bacteria were isolated on KZC medium. Biovar and biochemical tests were performed and 16S rRNA sequence analysis was done by using primers ISRso19-F(5 ‘TGGGAGAGGATGGCGGCTTT-3’), ISRso19-R (5′TGACCCGCCTTTCGGTGTTT- 3′). phylogenetic analysis was done to study relationship between strains isolated from different host. The isolated strains were grouped into Biovar 1 and Biovar 3, as well as three clusters. Cluster I contained strains of host plants Banana, Turmeric and Brinjal, cluster II those of Potato while cluster III contained strains of Tomato.
