Abstract

The de-proteinized leaf extract is a by-product, left after protein extraction from green leaves for human and animal consumption, which is rich in sugars, amino acids and minerals. It is most suitable for cultivating fungi and production of microbial metabolites. Attempts were made during present investigation to evaluate the potential of de-proteinized leaf extracts from different plants for growing useful fungi and exploit them for the production of enzyme amylase.
