Abstract

Methane is one of the greenhouse gases, which is usually emitted from low land rice field by methanogens. Methanotroph is aerobic microorganism which trap methane from low land rice ecosystem. During present investigation methanotroph bacteria were isolated from four different location of Cauvery delta zone, Tamil Nadu. Cultures were confirmed as a methanotroph by methane monooxidase activity Methanotroph isolates were mass multiplied and bio-inoculants were developed.
