F2 populations of three okra crosses were evaluated in kharif 2015 for yield and yield contributing characters to identify transgressive segregates. Considerable variation was observed in F2 populations of the three crosses for most of the characters. Maximum variation among the transgressive segregates were observed for the character plant height (27.33%) followed by green fruit yield per plant (24.67%) in the cross Hisar Navin x Arka Abhay. Among the crosses, maximum number of transgressive segregates were found in the cross Hisar Navin x Arka Abhay, which indicated its superiority over other crosses, and diverse nature of the parents. These transgressive segregates will have to be evaluated in next generation.
