Abstract

During the survey of Myxomycetes from vidarbha region of Maharashtra state the author come across some novel species for the first time from this region. Five species belonging to five genera of myxomycetes have been described in this paper. The genera Tubifer J. F. Gmel, Perichaena Fries and Stemonitis Roth have been described with one species each i.e Tubifera casparyi (Rost.) Macbr., Perichaena chrysosperma (Curry.) A. Lister. And stemonitis fusca Roth., The genus Comatricha Preuss have been represented with two species i.e. Comatricha pulchella (C. Bab). Rost., and Comatricha tyophoides (Bull). Rost. Out of these species, Tubifera casparyi (Rost.) Macbr., is the first report of its kind from India, while rest of the species are reported for the first time from this region.
