Abstract
While studying algal diversity of Khelna reservoir in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra, 23 taxa of diatoms were recorded during October 2014 to September 2016. Almost all diatoms were pennate. Fragilaria brevistrata, Fragilaria construens, Navicula cupsidata, Cymbella aspera, Nitzschia palea, Gomphonema sp. and Surirella ovata were dominant. Cymbella aspera was universally collected from all sites. Summer and Winter seasons were found suitable for abundance of diatoms.
