Prevalence of gregarine parasites in millipedes from parli-Vaijnath, Marathwada region

Abstract

Present communication deals with gregarine, parasitizing alimentary canal of millipedes, Chondromorpha kelaarti collected from Parli-Vaijanath (Maharashtra) during June to November, 2018. In all 1, 034 millipeds were examined. The intensity of prevalence cephaline gregarine was 63.34%. Distribution of gregarine parasites was higher in anterior and middle parts of the intestine, than in the posterior region. The prevalence of this parasite increased during rainy season which gradually decreased in winter.
