During floristic work at Chandrapur and surrounding area, some interesting specimens of Afrohybanthus of family Violaceae were collected. It was identified as Afrohybanthus puberulus (M. Gilbert.) U.B. Deshmukh, a new distributional plant record from Maharashtra state. In present communication its taxonomic description has been provided.
