Abstract

Macrobrachium rosenbergii larvae were reared from IVth stage onwards. During rearing, the diet having different concentrations of fish meat powders (20, 25, 30, 35 and 40%) isolated from Ribbon fish and Pink perch was fed. Other ingredients in the prepared diet were common and constant. Significantly was fed minimum period of survival were recorded due to the feeding of 30% Ribbon fish meat and Pink perch meat incorporated diets (22 days and 26 days respectively), whereas maximum survival were recorded with the feeding of 25% Ribbon fish meat and Pink perch meat incorporated diets (61.8 and 56.0% respectively). Significantly less larval period and more survival time were observed due to feeding Ribbonfish meat powder incorporated diet, rather than Pink perch fish meat incorporated diet, at various concentrations. Thus incorporation of 25 to 30% fish meat powder in the diet of M. rosenbergii larvae gave better results.
