Abstract

Fungal species e.g. Trichoderma viride, Trichoderma koningii, Penicillium chrysogenum and Rhizopus stolaniferous were tested against Cypermethrin-25 EC, the most popular insecticide. All fungi showed their ability to eliminate residual pesticides from the soil. The results obtained with Gas Chromatography and electronic capture detector (GC-ECD) and Chemical oxygen demand (COD) showed maximum removal of pesticides by Trichoderma viride and Trichoderma koningii, while moderate removal was experienced with Penicillium chrysogenum.
