A field experiment was undertaken to study seasonal incidence of root-knot nematode on well-established fig orchard. Maximum population of root-knot nematode (820 J2/200 cm3 of soil), number of root galls (148.0/5 g roots) and egg masses (112.0/5 g roots) were recorded in 2nd fortnight of December (52nd meteorological week), when maximum and minimum temperatures of air were 29.15 and 11.15°C respectively, while those of soil were 3 nematode (40 J2/200 cm3 of soil), number of root galls (12/5 g of roots) and egg masses (5/5 g of roots) were recorded in 2nd fortnight of May (20th meteorological week), when maximum and minimum temperatures of air and soil were 36.50 and 24.65°C and 25.33 and 38.13°C respectively. Highly significant negative correlation between root-knot nematode population, number of root galls and egg masses with maximum and minimum temperatures of air and soil was observed.
